I want to buy a digital camera probably a Kodak DX3500, but I don’t have a USB port on my PC. I do have two spare serial ports. Could I get a serial/USB adapter for this camera lead or is it not that simple? I tried asking in various shops but got no joy – HELP.

dp-now.com:

My advice to you would be to install a third party USB upgrade card for your PC. You will have to upgrade to Windows 98 or later if you are only running Windows 95.

Another possible option is to invest in a compact flash memory card and to use that instead of the 8MB of internal memory the camera has as standard. There are CF memory card readers for the parallel printer port, for example. However, I strongly suggest you go for the USB upgrade.
